Staring At the Sun

We arrived in Niigata without incident yesterday evening, and have been doing a whole lot of nothing since then. Usually when we come at this time of year there is some farm work to be done, and there may still be over the next few days, but the watermelon harvesting season is over and it doesn’t seem like the fields are ready to be cleaned up yet. I almost hope there is some backbreaking labor for me to be involved in because otherwise there isn’t really anything to do.

I took a bike ride and walk today in the hopes of taking some good pictures, but came away pretty uninspired. The most eye-catching thing were the sunbeams blasting out from behind the intermittent clouds, and I do like taking pictures of clouds and sky.

Not too shabby, but this place has much more to offer.
